WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The Redskins will be on a traveling rollercoaster during the 2017 season, alternating home and away games through Thanksgiving, and three west coast trips in a schedule that will put the team in prime-time five times.
The Redskins will open the season at home on Sunday, September 10th with an NFC East matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles at Fed Ex Field.
Other highlights include back-to-back prime time games in weeks three and four against teams from the AFC West – the Oakland Raiders in Landover, followed by the Chiefs in Kansas City.
For the first time ever, the team will host a game on Thanksgiving, an evening divisional affair at home against the New York Giants, followed a week later by a Thursday night game at Dallas against the Cowboys.
The Skins will wrap up their regular season on New Year’s Eve at the Meadowlands.
That game is currently scheduled for 1 pm, but if the season goes well, it could very well end up as a prime-time matchup, as the league flexes its schedule for teams vying for playoff spots.
