SOUND BYTE OF TRUMP’S PRESIDENCY: I WAS ELECTED TO REPRESENT THE CITIZENS OF PITTSBURGH, NOT PARIS

During his speech announcing the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Accords, President Donald J. Trump said:

“At what point does America get demeaned? At what do they start laughing at us as a country? We want fair treatment for its citizens and we want fair treatment for our tax payers. We don’t want other leaders and other countries laughing at us anymore. And they won’t be… they won’t be. I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.”

During this afternoon’s Larry O’Connor Show on WMAL, host Larry O’Connor characterized this statement as “the sound byte of the day, if not the sound byte of the year, if not the sound byte of the presidency. THIS is why you voted for President Trump.”
