WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Antoine Petty was sentenced today to 40 years in prison for the murder of his two month old son, Antoine Flemons.
The Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office released a video on Twitter where State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks discussed the sentencing.

“He was literally a defenseless baby,” said Alsobrooks. “At two months old, he had no person to protect him.”
Petty beat his son to death when the child wouldn’t stop crying, according to the State’s Attorney’s Office. Petty and the baby’s mother buried him in a shallow grave close to a local school when they realized he was no longer responsive. The child’s body was found a month later.
Geneice Petty, the boy’s mother, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
