Trump accuses media of stoking ‘great anger’ in US (New York Post)

Despite calls for him to cool his overheated rhetoric after the deadly synagogue shooting and pipe bomb mailings, President Trump on Monday continued his assault on the “Fake News Media” by continuing to accuse them of stoking rage.

“There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly,” he wrote on his Twitter account. [Read More]

Alabama McDonald’s gunman killed by armed dad, who is injured in shootout (FOX News)

A brave dad armed with a pistol stopped what could have been a mass shooting Saturday inside an Alabama McDonald’s when he took down a masked gunman who had stormed in and opened fire.

The unidentified father was leaving the establishment with his sons when a masked man walked into the Birmingham fast-food restaurant and started shooting, WBRC-TV reported. The father returned fire and, during the ensuing shootout, the gunman, the father and one of the man’s teenage sons were struck, according to the station. [Read More]

5,000 US troops will deploy to southern border: report (The Hill)

The U.S. military is set to deploy about 5,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist with the Trump administration’s response to a so-called migrant caravan of asylum seekers, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

The number represents a significant increase over the initial estimate of 800 that several news outlets reported last week.

“Planning is still underway,” Pentagon spokeswoman Laura Seal said in a statement to The Hill. “It remains premature to speculate total numbers or specific forces to be selected to accomplish the requested missions.” [Read More]

The Left’s Response To The Mass Shooting Of Jews Is An Act Of Bad Faith (The Federalist)

It was ironic to see many of the same liberals, who recently fought to prop up the world’s most powerful Jew-hating terror state, lecturing us on the importance of combating anti-Semitism. But there they were yesterday.

The same Voxers who had long rationalized, romanticized, and excused the Jew-killing terror organization of the Middle East were now blaming the existence of the evil, anti-Semitic Pittsburgh shooter on Republicans. The same Pod bros whose echo chamber deployed anti-Semitic dual-loyalty tropes to smear critics of the Iran deal were now incredibly concerned about the Jewish community. [Read More]

Hillary Clinton to run in 2020?: ‘No … Well I’d like to be president’ (Washington Examiner)

Hillary Clinton gave a possible hint about maybe embarking on another presidential run.

Asked by Recode’s Kara Swisher about a 2020 redo on Friday, Clinton initially said no, but what came next was increasingly ambiguous.

“We’re going to talk about 2020 in a minute. Do you want to run again?” asked Swisher.

“No. No,” Clinton said.

“That was a pause…” Swisher observed. [Read More]

Maryland woman charged with making fake documents to help nonresidents get driver’s licenses (The Washington Post)

A Maryland woman has been charged in a scheme to make and sell fake bank statements and utility bills so out-of-state residents could get driver’s licenses, police said Monday.

Elisa Arleni Ordonez, 38, of Silver Spring, faces multiple counts of fraud, according to the Montgomery County police.

Authorities said she ran a scheme, starting in August 2017, in which she sold fake documents to four people who then used the documents to get Maryland licenses. She charged between $1,700 and $2,550 for the fraudulent documents, they said. [Read More]
