WASHINGTON – (WMAL) The grass-roots group, 300 Men March, will complete a 35-mile journey to Washington Monday afternoon.

The march hopes to bring attention to the growing violence in Baltimore and throughout the country.

The over 20-hour trek began Sunday night in Baltimore with a total of 42 participants, 10 in the group being teenagers.

The journey to Washington will be the group’s longest march to date, the distance being longer than that of a marathon.

Baltimore has had more than 40 homicides in May and July alone, bringing the total to over 200 so far this year.
