WASHINGTON — (CNN) Big changes could be on the way for private gun sellers like those who sell online or at gun shows.

President Barack Obama’s executive action would close the so-called “gun show loophole,” in which a private seller doesn’t require a background check. The executive action set to be announced on Tuesday might include requiring more background checks.

Local licensed dealers probably will not see much of a change.

At Caswells Shooting Range in Mesa, it’s business as usual.

“If it revolves around background checks … for people to buy guns, I don’t really have any concern,” Bridges Kimball, co-owner of the range, said. He explained that a licensed store like his already requires every customer to go through a background check.

While Obama announced his intentions of beefing up gun laws, Caswells hasn’t seen an increase in customers worried about the coming proposal.

Kimball said sales have been steady since the terrorist attack in San Bernardino. Most customers are looking for handguns.

“[People are looking for] anything that’s easy to carry on your person, easy to conceal to defend yourself if the situation were to arise,” Kimball said.

Kimball also said the possible change in the laws could help keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people.

“The last thing you would want … is for a person who got arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, to then lose his rights or her rights to own a gun, and then go to Backpage and find somebody selling a gun and buy it and get in their hands and go back and do more damage potentially,” Kimball said.

Obama is set to announce his executive action on Tuesday.
