BELTSVILLE, MD — (WMAL) Police are looking for a man who they say shot and killed his estranged wife outside High Point High School Thursday afternoon.

62-year-old Eulalio Tordil, an employee of the Federal Protective Service, was seen arguing with 44-year-old Gladys Tordil as she arrived at the school to pick up her children at around 4:40 pm. A bystander approached the couple to try and break up the argument, and was shot in the shoulder, before Tordil turned the gun on his wife and killed her, according to police.

Torfil drove off after the shootings. No students were harmed or involved during the incident.

The man who was shot is in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

The shooting was captured on surveillance cameras at the school and detectives were reviewing them, police said. Witnesses say one of the victim’s daughters saw the shooting take place, and was pulled back into the school building to be kept from the scene.

The school did open on time Friday and a crisis team was made available to students.
