WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Temperatures across the Baltimore-Washington metro region are predicted to stay above 100* degrees Fahrenheit throughout the weekend. This would be the first prolonged stretch of over 100-degree heat that the area has experienced all season, according to the National Weather Service meteorologist Matthew Elliott.

Elliott told WMAL that forecasts show a possibility of highs of 105 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday, and the temperature could remain high through Monday.

As always, it is imperative that you stay cool during a heat wave.

“When the heat gets this bad, prolonged exposure to the heat is really what can cause issues,” said Elliott. “Even going into an air conditioned building for a while can help significantly.”
