Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Hosts: Brian Wilson and guest host Cherylyn LeBon

Executive Producer: Heather Hunter

5am – A         Q & A Cherylyn LeBon

5am – B/C     Radio host Levin reverses course: ‘I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump.’ After once declaring he could never support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee, Mark Levin changed his mind with a big announcement on his radio program Tuesday.  “I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump. I’m gonna wind up voting for Donald Trump on Election Day,” the talk radio host said after reiterating his perspective that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was a far better choice for conservatives.

5am – D         Paul Ryan: FBI acting like ‘arm of Clinton campaign.’ House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is lambasting the FBI for burying its Hillary Clinton report by releasing it over the long Labor Day weekend. The Republican leader said it made the Feds look like a “political operator” rather than law enforcement. “[The Labor Day weekend is] like the most buried time you could put out stories. I’m surprised,” Paul Ryan told Wisconsin-based WRJN radio on Tuesday. “I mean, I can’t believe they would do what is such a patently political move. It makes them look like political operators versus law enforcement officers.” The House Speaker questioned the FBI’s decision to release the 47-page report, initially meant for Congress, right on the eve of the three-day Labor Day weekend, saying that this fact “mystifies” him “as to why they thought that was a smart thing to do.”

5am – E         IRAN

  • US defense official: 31 unsafe encounters with Iranian vessels in Persian Gulf seen in 2016
  • Two more U.S. payments to Iran were also made in cash, after initial planeload was sent as Americans were freed

6am – A/B/C Jeremy Corbyn: After-work drinks discriminate against mothers.

Jeremy Corbyn has called on companies to end after-work drinks, claiming that “early evening socialisation” benefits men while discriminating against mothers. The Labour leader made his comments at an early evening event which launched a document detailing how Mr Corbyn’s flagship 10 pledges would advance gender equality for women, and tackle gendered violence and harassment. Following the event, held at Unison’s offices, a drinks party was held. According to Mr Corbyn an after-work drinks culture “benefits men who don’t feel the need to be at home looking after their children and it discriminates against women who will want to, obviously, look after the children that they have got”.

6am – D         Stevie Nicks on Her Fleetwood Mac ‘Team,’ Solo Joys and the 2016 Election. (NY Times) — Stevie Nicks says that one of her favorite things to do is light a candle, sit at the desk in her Los Angeles home and write poetry. Ms. Nicks, the rock ’n’ roll mystic who constitutes one-fifth of Fleetwood Mac’s classic lineup and wrote several of its most beloved hits (including “Dreams” and “Rhiannon”), is so prolific that six years after joining that multiplatinum California band in 1975, she embarked on a solo career with “Bella Donna,” which featured the memorable centerpiece “Edge of Seventeen.”

STEVIE NICKS: Fleetwood Mac is a team, and when you’re on a team everybody has the same vote — except in this particular team Lindsey has a little bit of a stronger vote than anybody else. I love being part of a team. We argue all the time, but we always have. In my band, there is no arguing. I am the boss. My solo career is probably the reason Fleetwood Mac is still together in 2016, because I was always happy to leave Fleetwood Mac, and I was always happy to come back, too.

6am – E         Hillary Coughing Update:

  • Doctor: Hillary Clinton’s Cough Wouldn’t Be so Severe if Caused by. Dr. Jane Orient, an author and Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, spoke to Breitbart News on Tuesday about Hillary Clinton’s health regarding her recent coughing fit during a campaign event Monday in Cleveland, Ohio. “They say that it was four minutes and 22 seconds, which is a long time,” Orient explained during a phone interview on Tuesday evening.

7am – A         INTERVIEW – VINCE COGLIANESE – (KAH-LIN-NAYS) – Executive Editor, The Daily Caller

  • Clinton ends presser when asked about CNN poll. (Daily Caller) – Clinton had just answered a tough question about riding on airplanes, when a reporter can be heard asking, “what do you think about the CNN poll?”  The reporter begins to explain how CNN’s poll showed the Democratic nominee trailing Donald Trump by two points before being interrupted by Clinton’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri. “OK, we’ll come back,” Palmieri tells the reporters before Clinton herself notes she was just “saying good morning” and promising to “come back later.”

7am – B         ZIKA FUNDING: A funding bill to address the Zika Virus has stalled in the Senate. Democrats objected to part of the bill that placed restrictions on Planned Parenthood and the bill failed to hit the 60 vote threshold

  • Senate blocks Zika funding. A divided Senate on Tuesday again rejected a funding bill to fight the Zika virus, proving that Congress’s months-old stalemate went resolved over its lengthy summer recess. In a 52-46 procedural vote, the Senate failed to win the 60 votes necessary to move forward and end debate on a conference report with the House on the issue. Democrats nearly unanimously voted to block the $1.1 billion funding bill, which was approved by House Republicans in June but has now failed three times in the Senate because of divisive language targeting Planned Parenthood. The Zika funding bill was attached to next year’s spending bill for military construction and veterans affairs, typically one of the least controversial spending bills in either chamber.

7am – C  Apple expected to unveil new iPhone 7. Wednesday is a big day in the tech world. Apple is holding its annual launch event where the new iPhone 7 is expected to be revealed. The much-heralded device comes just as rival Samsung has recalled its flagship Note 7 over battery issues. Many commentators expect Apple to have ditched the headphone jack, leaving only one port. The previous model – the iPhone 6S – was the world’s bestselling handset, according to new research.

7am – D         INTERVIEW — KT MCFARLAND – Fox News National Security Analyst @KTMCFARLAND

  • After cursing Obama, Duterte expresses regret. Vientiane, Laos (CNN) Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte is expressing regret after his obscenity-laden rant against President Barack Obama prompted the White House to cancel planned bilateral talks between the two leaders. Duterte, who cursed Obama as a “son of a bitch” Monday, said in a statement through his spokesman that he regretted “it came across as a personal attack on the US” “We look forward to ironing out differences arising out of national priorities and perceptions,” the statement released on Tuesday read. White House officials previously said Obama would confront Duterte about his country’s handling of drug dealers, including extrajudicial killings, which are government executions without the benefit of judicial proceedings. “Who does he think he is? I am no American puppet. I am the president of a sovereign country and I am not answerable to anyone except the Filipino people,” Duterte scoffed in a speech Monday. “Son of a bitch, I will swear at you.”
  • Obama Plays Down Confrontation With China Over His Plane’s Stairs. HANGZHOU, China — When Air Force One taxied to a stop in eastern China on Saturday afternoon, American and Chinese officials had already engaged in a lengthy, heated dispute over the most mundane of issues: How would the president depart his plane? China’s handling of President Obama’s arrival for the Group of 20 summit meeting in Hangzhou has created a narrative that the Chinese snubbed the American president.
  • US defense official: 31 unsafe encounters with Iranian vessels in Persian Gulf seen in 2016
  • Two more U.S. payments to Iran were also made in cash, after initial planeload was sent as Americans were freed
  • Paul Ryan: FBI acting like ‘arm of Clinton campaign’

7am – E         DC Metro News:

  • Woman Sexually Assaulted Aboard DC Metro Train. (Daily Caller) – A man sexually assaulted a woman on an orange line train in Virginia in broad daylight Monday as it approached the Dunn Loring station near Arlington. Police promptly apprehended the suspect on scene after the female victim identified her attacker. Officers arrested 27-year-old Anthony Sinclair from Washington, C., and charged him with aggravated sexual battery and assault and battery. Sinclair allegedly exposed himself to the woman as the orange line train approached the Dunn Loring station at 2 p.m., reports WJLA. Sinclair assaulted the woman and tried to force her to perform a sex act before she was able to escape and alert authorities in the station.
  • DC Metro ridership falls amid repair project. Total ridership on Washington’s Metrorail system dropped 6 percent in fiscal 2016 compared to the previous year, according to a report released by the transit agency on Tuesday. The disappointing numbers come as Metro implements a massive, yearlong repair plan, which has prompted riders to seek alternative transit options. There were 321 million total trips taken in the fiscal year that ended June 30, which is about 20 million fewer than the previous fiscal year.
  • Nearly 20 percent of Metro trains have arrived late this year, missing the transit agency’s goal of providing more reliable subway service, according to a quarterly report released Tuesday. (Washington Times) — But Metro isn’t alone in failing to deliver passengers on time. New York City’s subway system — the nation’s largest — has seen about 32 percent of its trains arrive behind schedule this year.  The disappointing on-time performance statistics from the country’s two largest subway operations come as municipal and regional authorities encourage the use of rail travel to diminish road traffic and as ride-hailing outfits increasingly compete for transit passengers. For Metro, the new figures add to the longstanding challenges it is striving to address.

8am – B         Report details missed opportunities to stop OPM cyber breach. WASHINGTON (AP) — It was time to purge the hacker from the U.S. government’s computers. After secretly monitoring the hacker’s online movements for months, officials worried he was getting too close to critical information and devised a plan, dubbed “the Big Bang,” to expel him. Trouble was, with all their attention focused in that case, they missed the other hacker entirely Over the next several months, roaming unchecked through the system, the hacker stole sensitive security clearance background investigation files, personnel files and, ultimately, fingerprint data. That breach was not detected until April 2015, when an OPM contract employee traced the flow of stolen material back to an Internet address that had been registered to Steve Rogers, the alter ego of Captain America, indicating a spoof account. By then, sensitive information on millions of American workers had already been compromised. The report also faulted the personnel office for failing to quickly deploy security tools from an outside firm to detect malicious code and other threats.  Once deployed, the tool from Cylance Inc. of Irvine, California, “lit up like a Christmas tree,” indicating it found malware throughout the federal computers, an engineer is quoted as saying in the report.

8am – C         Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have split after three months. People claims a source has confirmed the couple known as Hiddleswift are no more “It was an amicable split,” the source said, meanwhile an insider told Us Weekly that Taylor “was the one to put the brakes on the relationship” because she didn’t like how public the Thor actor wanted to be about their lurve. “Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with,” the insider said. “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”  The source added that Hiddleston is “embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out.”

8am – D/E     Radio host Levin reverses course: ‘I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump.’ After once declaring he could never support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee, Mark Levin changed his mind with a big announcement on his radio program Tuesday.  “I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump. I’m gonna wind up voting for Donald Trump on Election Day,” the talk radio host said after reiterating his perspective that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was a far better choice for conservatives. “I take no responsibility for the dumb things he says or the dumb things his surrogates say,” he added of the GOP nominee and his campaign. Levin’s endorsement comes five months after unequivocally stating, “I am not voting for Donald Trump. Period.”
