ROCKVILLE — (WMAL) Montgomery County Police report that the victim of a house explosion in Rockville on Friday shot himself and his dog.

On March 17 police responded to a fire at the 11400 block of Ashley Drive. They found human remains in the basement, which they later identified to be resident Steven Martin Beck, 61.

An autopsy revealed that the victim committed suicide by shooting himself as well as his dog.

Police could not confirm when the victim shot himself.
