WASHINGTON – (WMAL) While all attention is on Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, there’s a more understated observance happening at that cemetery’s predecessor, in a quiet section of Northwest DC.¬†The United States Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery is also the final resting place of the Union General¬†who formalized what came to be known as Memorial Day. WMAL’s Steve Burns visited the grounds.
