Chris Plante’s sea cruise – Subs, Refugees and one Hilarious Nesting Doll…

Some of you may have noticed that Chris Plante hasn’t been on air the last few days!  He is on his sea cruise going all around Europe!  We posted some pictures on the Chris Plante Facebook page recently of Copenhagen and Latvia but Chris has sent in a slew of new stuff so here we go!

Chris and his Best Girl at the Harley Davidson festival in St Petersburg Russia

Where they think they may have spotted a celebrity!

We think we spotted Lenin!

Must be a popular look over there!

And while in Russia, Chris spotted something truly Hillarious:

In Russia, they make these traditional “stacking dolls.”  Including stacking dolls of U.S. Presidents. One inside the other. Looks like someone in Russia made the mistake of believing what they read in The New York Times.  Oops.

A real treasure!

And you can always tell when you’re leaving Russia by one lovely sight.

Boom!

Then Chris and the rest of the Cruisers landed in sunny Stockholm, where the herring is…well, a smelly fish.  But everything else is quite beautiful, thank you.

There was a protest going on:

They demand that Sweden not deport them, even if they are here illegally.  Because, well, because Stockholm is really nice.  And Afghanistan has a dirt floor.

Chris says he had a conversation with one of their community organizers.  “He approached me.  Clearly trained in the technique.”

Near the old city, Chris saw this statue.A wolf in beggar’s clothing.  In bronze.

Seems somewhat fitting.

Also this store:

Not entirely sure what they sell here!

So Chris is enjoying his Sea Cruise and being his usual, Trouble-making self overseas.

More pictures as they arrive!  Chris is back on August 14!

UPDATE with some extra pics:

Great moments in Cold War History : Reykjavik – site of the 1986 Reagan – Gorbachev Summit

And:

In Stockholm’s airport they have a smoking booth. A sealed glass booth.  It is handicapped accessible.  As the wheelchair decal indicates.  The booth is about the size of a queen size bed. There were five people in there, smoking, as you might expect.  Including a woman in a wheel chair.  This is a testimony to dedication.
