Mark Wahlberg Asked God to Forgive Him for Boogie Nights (PJ Media)
Almost on a daily basis of late, we’ve been receiving further confirmation for what we’ve already known — Hollywood is a cesspool of vice and corruption. From the Weinstein scandal to the growing pedophilia scandal, Hollywood is being revealed as an industry that should be steered clear of by anyone who desires to pursue God’s righteousness. The scandals aside, Hollywood’s product often violates the standards of righteousness demanded by God to begin with. One of the clearest examples in the past twenty years has been Boogie Nights starring Mark Wahlberg, who is a committed Roman Catholic. In fact, Wahlberg has admitted to praying to God and seeking forgiveness for his role in Boogie Nights.
Last week, while in Chicago to help Cardinal Blase Cupich in his efforts to bring younger people back to the Catholic Church, Wahlberg told Kim Janssen of the Chicago Tribune that “I just always hope that God is a movie fan and also forgiving, because I’ve made some poor choices in my past.” [Read More]
Judicial Watch: FBI Recovered 72,000 Pages of Clinton Records (Judicial Watch)
Judicial Watch announced that the State Department revealed in a federal court hearing that it has yet to process 40,000 of 72,000 pages of Hillary Clinton records that the FBI recovered last year. The revelation came during a federal court hearing in Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails that were sent or received during her tenure from February 2009 to January 31, 2013 (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00687)). The case is before Judge James E. Boasberg.
The hearing focused on the State Department’s progress on processing the tens of thousands of emails Clinton failed to disclose when she served as Secretary of State, some of which were emails sent by Clinton aide Huma Abedin that were found on the laptop of her estranged husband Anthony Weiner. The State Department has processed 32,000 pages of emails so far, a small number of which have been released, but 40,000 pages remain to be processed. [Read More]
Maryland Senator To Propose Capital Punishment Bill In 2018 (Patch.com)
A Maryland lawmaker is proposing bringing back the death penalty. Senator Robert G. Cassilly announced at a press conference Monday afternoon that he plans to ask the Maryland General Assembly to restore the option of capital punishment during the 2018 legislative session.
“There’s got to be a penalty that says, ‘Look, you’ve killed; now it can actually get a whole lot worse from this [if you re-offend] because we will hold your life over your head,” Cassilly said.
“I know we’ve been through the capital punishment bill a number of times in this state, but we’ve seen around the country what happened in Las Vegas, we’ve seen this happen too many times,” Cassilly said.
The death penalty in Maryland was repealed in 2013 under the administration of then Gov. Martin O’Malley. [Read More]

AP Covers Up ‘Honor’- and Muslim-Related Aspects of Cleveland Murder (NewsBusters)
On Tuesday, a man admitted that, as written up at Cleveland.com, the website of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, that he killed his 27-year-old daughter in September 2016 “because he felt she disrespected his rules about coming home late and failing to clean up her room.” One of those rules was clearly: Don’t date non-Muslim men.”
Though he avoided using the actual term, PD reporter Adam Ferrise at least gave readers enough information to show that what took place was a de facto Muslim “honor killing” — something a related Associated Press report was determined not to enable readers to discern.
