WASHINGTON (WMAL) — A winter weather advisory has been issued for the District for the impending snowfall between 9 pm tonight and 9 am Wednesday morning.

Terri Smith, a meteorologist at the Weather Channel, says that while areas to the west and north could get up to two inches, DC may only get up to an inch.

“Really, more than the snow, I think it’s going to be the cold air that’s really going to be uncomfortable for people, tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night,” said Smith. “But then we start to warm up later in the week.”

Smith says the temperatures in DC tonight will be in the low to mid-20’s meaning if there is any snow, it will stick to the roads. Wednesday morning commuters should watch out for icy patches on the roads, which is Smith’s main concern.
