Virginia Police Investigate Fliers Claiming To Be From KKK

LEESBURG, Va. — Ku Klux Klan recruitment fliers have been discovered roughly 60 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of Washington, D.C.

A statement from Loudoun County, Virginia says the county sheriff’s office and Leesburg police are investigating after KKK material was found inside small plastic bags near driveways Saturday evening.

The sheriff’s office was told Sunday morning about KKK fliers, two with CDs, in several Paeonian Springs driveways. Less than two hours later more fliers were discovered in Lovettsville alongside driveways, near mailboxes and on sidewalks.

Authorities say there is no indication any homes that received fliers were targeted. Some of the fliers were similar to ones reported in Leesburg days before Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Last year Leesburg residents received bags filled with candy and messages warning of “white extinction” on Halloween.
