OXON HILL, MD — (WMAL) Good luck can make you rich in a casino. So can cheating the system.

Prosecutors say a now-former Baccarat dealer at the MGH National Harbor conspired to have a co-conspirator win at the card game, then split the winnings.

Court documents reveal that the dealer, Ming Zhang, showed a portion of the Baccarat deck to his partner, then dealt a game to him.

The scam took place in September of 2017, according to the indictment, which was first reported by WRC-TV.

Prosecutors say that knowing the order in which cards appear in a deck allows the player to predict the outcome of the game with near-perfect accuracy.

“Ming Zhang is no longer employed by MGM National Harbor,” casino spokesman Malik Husser said in a statement. “We have provided our full cooperation with authorities throughout this investigation.”

Zhang is due in federal court in Greenbelt Tuesday.
