5am – D/E     DEMS’ IMPEACHMENT TALK:

  • House Democrat reintroduces impeachment articles against Trump.  (CNN) At least one House Democrat isn’t going along with Nancy Pelosi’s plea that it’s too early to talk about impeaching President Donald Trump. Rep. Brad Sherman, a California Democrat, plans to re-introduce articles of impeachment against Trump on the first day of the new Congress, he said Thursday. Sherman told CNN Thursday that his goal is to force the conversation on impeachment when special counsel Robert Mueller’s report comes out, saying he is simply doing the same thing he did in 2017 to push the discussion, accusing Trump of obstructing justice.
  • ‘IMPEACH THE MOTHERF****R’: DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKER GOES AFTER TRUMP ON HER FIRST DAY IN OFFICE. Just hours after being sworn into Congress on Thursday, Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib promised to go after President Donald Trump, telling a group of left-wing supporters she would help Democrats “impeach the motherf****r.” Tlaib, who was one of two Muslim women sworn into Congress, made the remarks at a rally held by MoveOn near Capitol Hill, according to reporters at the event.
  • Pelosi: The Constitution considers me equal to Trump. (The Hill) —  Newly-elected Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in an interview published on Thursday that the Constitution considers her equal to President Trump. When Pelosi was asked whether she considers herself equal to Trump, she said, “The Constitution does,” The New York Times reported.
  • The US presidential line of succession changed yesterday with the new Congress: 1. VP Pence 2. Speaker Pelosi 3. Sen. Grassley 4. Sec. Pompeo 5. Sec. Mnuchin  // Grassley was elected president pro tempore of the US Senate by his colleagues.  The position is usually reserved for the longest serving member of the majority party.  With the retirement of Orrin Hatch, Grassley assumes that mantle.  He will serve as President of the US Senate when Vice President Mike Pence is not at the Capitol.
  • Nancy Pelosi became the highest ranking official to suggest Trump could be indicted while in office during an interview with NBC’s “Today.  In an interview to air on NBC’s “Today,” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie asks Nancy Pelosi, who will become House speaker at around 1:30 pm Thursday: “Do you believe the special counsel should honor and observe the Department of Justice guidance that states a sitting president cannot be indicted?”  Pelosi replied, according to an excerpt from NBC: “I do not think that that is conclusive. No, I do not.” With that response, she becomes the highest ranking official to suggest President Trump could be indicted while in office.

6am – E         Netflix Begs Fans Not to Hurt Themselves With ‘Bird Box Challenge’

2019 has its answer to the Tide Pod Challenge. Netflix is begging fans not to participate in the “Bird Box Challenge,” a viral social-media stunt that centers on people putting on blindfolds and sometimes injuring themselves or others. “PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE,” Netflix tweeted Wednesday. In the Netflix horror movie Bird Box, Sandra Bullock and other characters blindfold themselves to avoid seeing monsters that take the form of people’s worst fears, causing them to commit suicide. Shortly after the movie came out in December, Bird Box fans started posting social-media videos of themselves running around while blindfolded in the #BirdBoxChallenge. The videos have gone viral, with one video of two women doing the challenge for 24 hours garnering nearly 2 million views on YouTube. At one point in the video, the blindfolded women fall down on a moving walkway.

6am – F         ASTRONAUT ACCIDENTALLY CALLS 911 FROM SPACE. A Dutch astronaut has described how he accidentally contacted American emergency services on 911 while in orbit above the Earth. André Kuipers described the experience while speaking on a radio program about his missions and communications between the Earth, satellites and astronauts orbiting the planet, according to the country’s public broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting. Kuipers explained that while trying to contact NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, he missed an all-important number and accidentally called the U.S. emergency services. The 60-year-old said that to reach the center in Houston, orbiting astronauts have to dial 9 for an outside line, followed by 011 for an international line. But of course, doing so while floating around in space is trickier than from a desk on Earth. “I made a mistake, and the next day I received an email message: did you call 911?”

  • Ronna McDaniel @GOPChairwoman Ronna McDaniel Retweeted Donald J. Trump: POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7. CNN political correspondent Dana Bash did the honors of walking around Little Italy with Pelosi and even stopping into her favorite shop for ice cream. “She attributes her boundless energy to Italian genes. It’s certainly not a balanced diet — dark chocolate and ice cream,” Bash narrated in a voiceover. “Vaccaro’s has been her favorite since she was a little girl.” CNN then showed Pelosi ordering “chocolate, not chocolate chip” ice cream because she likes her chocolate “unadulterated.”

This is a conversation I needed to have. I’m glad that I had it here. And I’m glad that it was as authentic and real as I could have hoped that it would be. “Let me assess, just to sit in the space and really think and you and I will talk before anything else,” Hart continued. “That’s my plan.”The comments come exactly a month after Hart was named the host of the 2019 Oscars. However, he stepped down just two days later after several anti-gay remarks he had made years earlier resurfaced on social media.
