During his time as mayor of Burlington, Vt., Sen. Bernie Sanders shared his views on the U.S.’s failed intervention in Cuba and on the Castro regime, saying “he educated their kids, gave them healthcare, totally transformed their society.” He made these remarks after visiting Nicaragua in 1985.
