WATCH: Maryland Governor eases restrictions caused by virus

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP/WMAL) – Gov. Larry Hogan says Maryland residents will no longer be required to stay at home under a statewide order late this week, but they will be strongly advised to continue to do so, especially if they are older and more vulnerable to the Coronavirus.

The Republican governor announced Wednesday that the state is gradually moving into stage one of the state’s recovery plan. It’s effective at 5 p.m. Friday, after 14 days of plateauing of key hospital metrics.

Retail stores may reopen at up to 50% capacity, with curbside pickup and delivery strongly encouraged and all public health precautions in place.

The restrictions are NOT being lifted for Howard, Montgomery or Prince George’s county at this time.
