5A/B/C – LAFAYETTE PARK LAST NIGHT

DC protesters try tearing down Andrew Jackson statue at Lafayette Park, set up ‘BHAZ’ near White House https://www.foxnews.com/politics/andrew-jackson-statue-bhaz-washington-lafayette-park

Protesters on Monday tried toppling a statue of Andrew Jackson near the White House, while sealing off an area in an act of defiance similar to events in Seattle by declaring off-limits an area dubbed the “Black House Autonomous Zone,” or “BHAZ.” Police intervened as chants of “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Andrew Jackson’s got to go” were heard while a rope was put around the bust of the seventh president riding a horse, the Washington Post reported. Hundreds of protesters locked arms around the statue before police officers removed the crowd in a chaotic scene U.S. Park and D.C. police used a chemical irritant to disperse the crowd and officers were hit with objects. Jackson, who has faced ire in the present day for his severe treatment of Native Americans, was the latest historical figure targeted by protesters demanding monuments and memorials to those with racist pasts be taken down.

TRUMP ISSUES WARNING TO PROTESTERS TRYING TO TEAR DOWN JACKSON STATUE IN LAFAYETTE PARK

“Numerous people arrested in D.C. for the disgraceful vandalism, in Lafayette Park, of the magnificent Statue of Andrew Jackson, in addition to the exterior defacing of St. John’s Church across the street,” Trump tweeted. “10 years in prison under the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act. Beware!” Social media posts from journalists in the area report that protesters are setting up camp near Lafayette Park in a similar fashion to Seattle’s CHOP. Fox 5 DC reported that protesters spraypainted “BHAZ” on the columns of St. John’s Church, which was apparently a reference to a “Black Autonomous Zone.”  The news station reported that U.S. Park Police and city police managed to close the area off to protesters. Reuters reported that these officers swung their batons in the effort.

5D – Trump signs order expanding immigration restrictions to include H-1B, other guest-worker programs

  • President Trump on Monday signed an executive order that significantly expands current immigration restrictions to include a number of guest-worker programs, including the H-1B visa — an order the administration says will put Americans first for jobs as the economy emerges from coronavirus lockdowns.
  • Trump previously signed an order in April that restricted some green cards but held off from restricting guest-worker programs. While other travel restrictions at the time were meant to curb coronavirus risk, the stated purpose of the immigration order was to help Americans in the job market after the pandemic put millions out of work.
  • The new order extends the measure and goes further by pausing new H-1B tech worker visas, H-2B seasonal worker visas, certain J work and education exchange visitor visas and L executive transfer visas. It will be in effect until the end of the year and will not affect those who already have a visa, Fox News is told.
  • It will include a number of exemptions, including for health care workers directly related to COVID-19 and for cases that are deemed to be in the national interest. Other exemptions include some that were in the original green card order, including for members of the U.S. military. The order also does not affect the H-2A agricultural guest-worker program.
  • The order may not have a noticeable effect immediately as routine visa services have been suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the administration estimates that the order will affect around 600,000 jobs before Dec. 31.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump To Suspend Visas Through End Of The Year — DHS Guidance Outlines Specific Exceptions To The Order.President Donald Trump will sign an executive order suspending foreign worker visas until December 31, 2020, Department of Homeland Security guidance obtained by the Daily Caller shows. The new executive order is expected to go into effect at 11:59 PM ET on Monday, June 22. The order will suspend H-1B visas, H-2B visas, certain J visas, and L visas. The order will carve out exceptions for lawful permanent residents, foreign workers who are essential to the U.S. food supply, and any spouse or child of a U.S. citizen. Additionally, the order will also grant Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf the authority to admit any alien whose entry they deem would be in the national interest.

According to DHS’ guidance, the order takes steps to transition to a “merit-based immigration system” by prohibiting American companies from replacing laid off workers with immigrants and blocking illegal immigrants from obtaining work permits.“The President is taking decisive action to put American families and workers first in the reopening of the economy and DHS is proudly partnering with him to implement this important executive action,” Wolf wrote in a draft statement attached to the guidance. “This proclamation ensures Americans aren’t facing unfair competition as our economy begins to safely reopen. American citizens must be first in line for American jobs.”

FLASHBACK… APRIL 29… Americans Overwhelmingly Support A Temporary Immigration Ban To Fight Coronavirus, Poll Finds A poll conducted by The Washington Post and University of Maryland found that Americans not only strongly support state-imposed restrictions on public gatherings and businesses to mitigate the COVID-19 outbreak, but also favor a moratorium on immigration similar to the order issued by President Donald Trump. The survey found that 65% of Americans back a temporary ban on almost all immigration into the United States during the coronavirus pandemic, with only 34% opposing such an order.

5E – Authors Quit J.K. Rowling’s Talent Agency After She Defends Concept Of Biological Sex Four authors resigned from the Blair Partnership, a literary agency based in Britain, after the agency refused their demands to outwardly support transgender rights and commit to internal educational measures like diversity training. The move came following a left-wing backlash to comments made on biological sex by J.K. Rowling, who is also a Blair Partnership client, according to The Guardian. Rowling said both on Twitter and in an essay that biological sex is an important concept that is under attack by transgender activists. Authors Drew Davies, Fox Fisher, Ugla Stefanía Kristjönudóttir Jónsdóttir, and a fourth anonymous individual — all members of the LGBTQ+ community —  published a short essay detailing their concerns with the agency’s neutrality towards Rowling’s comments.

6AM HOUR:

6A/B/C – BLACK LIVES MATTER

Cut 5 – Patrisse Cullors, who founded the group with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi in 2013, was interviewed by Morgan State University Professor Jared Ball in 2015 and admits shes a marxist (Time: 53s)

Cut 6 – Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf on the noose in the tree – may be prosecuted of a hate crime  (Time: 27s)

Cut 7 – Victor Sengbe (who hung the rope) – “Out of the dozen and hundreds and thousands of people that walked by, no one has thought that it looked anywhere close to a noose. Folks have used it for exercise. It was really a fun addition to the park that we tried to create, It’s unfortunate that a genuine gesture of just wanting to have a good time got misinterpreted into something so heinous,”  (Time: 27s)

  • Seattle will phase down CHOP at night, police will return to East Precinct, Durkan says Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said Monday that the Seattle Police Department will be returning to its abandoned East Precinct building “peacefully and in the near future,” following a weekend in which three people were shot at the edges of the protest area that has emerged around the building. Durkan said the city would attempt to phase down nighttime activity in the Capitol Hill Organized Protest area, known as CHOP — or earlier, as CHAZ — but would not be using police to clear the zone. Rather, Durkan said, they’d ask people to leave the area voluntarily at night, offering resources for homeless people and working with community groups to try to cajole people to leave the area, where dozens of tents have sprouted up in recent weeks, along with couches, guerrilla gardens and graffiti. “It’s time for people to go home, it is time for us to restore Cal Anderson and Capitol Hill so it can be a vibrant part of the community,” Durkan said. “The impacts on the businesses and residents and the community are now too much.”
  • KTAR: Due to Seattle’s unrest, billion-dollar investment firm moving to Phoenix Coronavirus pandemic or not, an investment advisory company is leaving the cultural unrest in Seattle and moving its headquarters to Phoenix’s Camelback Corridor. ” … The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today,” Smead Capital Management, President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News 92.3 FM. Smead said that although taxes in Seattle are lower, candidate recruitment is harder and the cost of living within the city is more expensive than Phoenix.
  • 102 PEOPLE SHOT IN CHICAGO THIS WEEKEND… 14 People Including Children Fatally Shot During Chicago’s Most Violent Weekend In 2020 Fourteen people, including five children, were fatally shot in Chicago over Father’s Day weekend, which marked the most violent weekend the city has seen yet in 2020, the Associated Press reported. In total, 102 people were shot in Chicago from Friday evening to Monday morning, and follows Chicago’s deadliest Memorial Day weekend since 2015 when 9 people were killed and 27 were wounded, according to the Associated Press. The victims included 5 children as young as 3-years old.
  • New York City Shootings Surge 358% Compared To Last Year Amid Disbanding Of Anti-Crime Police Unit New York City shootings have surged by more than 358% in mid-June when compared with the same time period from 2019, the violence erupting alongside the NYPD’s disbanding of anti-crime units, numerous sources reported. Across the five boroughs of New York, 74 people were wounded in the 55 shootings, a significant increase from the 12 shootings in 2019, NBC 4 reported. Most of the shootings took place Saturday, primarily in the Bronx. Four shootings were in Brooklyn, two in Queens and one in Manhattan. Victims were in the range of ages from 16 to 47, and some were innocent bystanders shot by stray gunfire. One man, who was shot in Brooklyn, died. The surge comes as the NYPD disbands its anti-crime unit and reassigns roughly 600 plainclothes officers to new roles as the department tries to move away from targeted raids, Forbes reported.
  •  ‘Tear Them Down’: Shaun King Demands ‘White European’ Jesus Statues Be Removed Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King called Monday for the removal of statues, murals and stained glass windows that depict Jesus as a “white European,” which he claimed “are a form of white supremacy.” “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down,” King, a former surrogate on Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign, wrote on Twitter. “They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been.” King’s targeting of religious artwork comes as various activist groups have moved beyond tearing down Confederate statues and are now calling for the removal of other historical monuments. “In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went?” he added. “EGYPT! Not Denmark. Tear them down.”
  • BLACK LEADERS STEP FORWARD TO HALT DEFUNDING OF POLICE While the drive to defund the police has quickly caught on among liberal-leaning activists and demonstrators, a number of prominent black leaders and advocates have spoken up in recent days, urging a more measured, thoughtful approach to regulating police forces around the country.
  • LAWMAKERS RALLY IN SUPPORT OF ATLANTA PD The International Brotherhood of Police Officers was joined at a press conference Sunday by GOP Rep. Doug Collins and state representatives including Georgia Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan. The community leaders were there to voice support for the Atlanta Police Department, but also used the moment to call for Attorney General Chris Carr to appoint an independent prosecutor to oversee the case.
  • NPR USES CAM FOOTAGE TO FALSELY CLAIM BLACK WOMAN A VICTIM OF WHITE SUPREMACISTS
  • NPR took the crime camera footage of the woman striking the rioter, and used it as the cover for an article. The article claims there are endemic attacks on peaceful protesters by right-wing extremists. Thankfully for the victim of the assault, The Spectator writer Stephen Miller quickly realized what NPR had done.
  • NPR eventually admitted the mistake, but not before the image had been up for four hours for NPR’s 8 million followers. While the outright falsehood was retracted, it is not the only dubious information in the piece. The article claimed, with scarce evidence, that murdering protesters with cars is increasingly supported by “mainstream Republican and conservative spaces.”
  • OLD BLM VIDEO SURFACES SHOWING FOUNDERS CLAIMING TO BE TRAINED MARXISTS  “Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories,” she said, adding that the group’s founders sought to “build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.””We don’t necessarily want to be the vanguard of this movement. I think we’ve tried to put out a political frame that’s about centering who we think are the most vulnerable amongst the black community, to really fight for all of our lives,” she said.
  • NOOSES” IN OAKLAND PARK WERE PART OF EXERCISE SYSTEM (AND PUT UP BY A BLACK MAN)  “Out of the dozen and hundreds and thousands of people that walked by, no one has thought that it looked anywhere close to a noose. Folks have used it for exercise. It was really a fun addition to the park that we tried to create,” Sengbe said.”It’s unfortunate that a genuine gesture of just wanting to have a good time got misinterpreted into something so heinous,” he told the station.

TOPIC: Grassroots group wants to abolish At Large Council Seats https://www.mymcmedia.org/grassroots-group-wants-to-abolish-at-large-council-seats/?fbclid=IwAR2KUy4gH22uacMWtP9nqKY1kONxFmHAJtSnWUXmGeMWIssBZv5Me2FIsh4

  • LISTENER EMAIL: We hope you might consider mentioning and promoting the petition for Nine Districts for MoCo on an upcoming show. We need another 6000+ signatures to get this on the ballot. We thought you may have an interest since you live in MoCo. The petition is available for online signing. Could you please help!!!??
  • ABOUT THE GROUP: Concerned that so many of the nine council members live in and around the Bethesda-Silver Spring area, a group calling itself Nine Districts for MoCo seeks to put a citizen’s charter amendment on the November 2020 ballot that they believe would enable all areas of the county to be represented equally. Currently, there are five districts and four at large seats on the nine-member council.
  • According to Nine Districts, a large hunk of the county from Rockville to Germantown and Poolesville and Damascus have little voice on the council. Removing at large seats “will guarantee smaller districts, more responsive representation and an avenue for your voice to be heard,” the group stated on its website.

6E –  CLEVELAND BAKERY

Cut 8 – Cleveland bakery store owner  Kelly Kandah tells Fox and Friends shes being threatened for helping police (Time: 57s)

Victim Of Rioting Says She Is Being Threatened For Helping Police Find People Who Destroyed Her Store A Cleveland bakery store owner said Monday that after having her business gutted by rioters she is now being threatened for helping the police investigate the crime. “The store’s gotten some threats. When it gets rebuilt it’s going to get hit again. That my cooperation is unfair. That I shouldn’t be — I shouldn’t be cooperating with the FBI. That, you know … it’s … against the cause,” Kelly Kandah, proprietor of Colossal Cupakes, told “Fox & Friends.” “I’m actually absolutely for the cause. But it’s upsetting people that I would … involve the police over something such as property.” She said she believed her life was threatened when rioters gutted her store and she had to lock herself in the bathroom. She called the Cleveland police, who came to her rescue.

6F –  BIDEN:

  • Biden campaign agrees to 3 general election debates, slams Trump team for seeking more The Biden campaign has agreed to participate in three planned general election presidential debates in the fall, while slamming the Trump campaign’s push for more debates as an “effort to change the subject” and “create a distracting ‘debate about debates.’” Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon penned a letter, obtained by Fox News, to the Commission on Presidential Debates outlining the campaign’s expectations for the debate schedule this fall. “While I know no formal debate invitation will be issued to Joe Biden or Donald Trump until after the Party Conventions and the CPD’s invitation process, I wanted to set forth our views on how the Commission should proceed with planning for the fall debates,” Dillon wrote. “First, once formally invited, Vice President Biden will accept and participate in the Commission’s planned Presidential candidates’ debates for September 29, October 15, and October 22; his running mate will participate in the Vice Presidential candidates’ debate set for October 7,” she wrote. “We hope that President Trump and Vice President Pence will similarly indicate their willingness to participate.” She added: “Joe Biden looks forward to facing Donald Trump in a multi-debate series that the American people have come to expect from their leaders; we hope that President Trump would not break that tradition or make excuses for a refusal to participate.”
  • Trump Campaign Slams Biden For Declining More Debates President Donald Trump’s campaign on Monday slammed 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden for declining to do more than three debates, as the Trump campaign has been pushing to do four. “It’s pretty obvious that Joe Biden’s handlers are afraid to send their candidate out without a script and teleprompter handy. An earlier and longer debate schedule is necessary so Americans can see the clear difference between President Trump’s vibrant leadership and Biden’s confused meandering,” Tim Murtaugh, Trump 2020 communications director said in a statement. “Based on his performance in a Philadelphia speech last week, it’s not a question of trusting Biden to answer the phone at 3:00 AM in an emergency, it’s a question of whether he can answer it at 3:00 in the afternoon. It’s been 81 days since Biden held a press conference and his handlers continue to encourage him to stay hidden. Americans deserve better,” Murtaugh continued.

Cut 9 – Jimmy Kimmel shows Megan Fox a picture he drew of the two of them in bed together (Time: 46s)

Cut 10 – Megan Fox tells Jimmy Kimmel a story of working with Michael Bay at age 15 (Time: 49s)

  • Jimmy Kimmel, Michael Bay face backlash after old Megan Fox interview resurfaces: ‘This is disgusting’A several-years-old clip from the 52-year-old comic’s show recently resurfaced online and featured Megan Fox recounting an experience with director Bay when she was a teenager. In the clip, Fox, now 34, recalls working as an extra on “Bad Boys II,” directed by Bay, now 55. The actress said that at just 15 years old, she was dressed in a bikini and heels but could not sit at a bar due to her age. “[Bay’s] solution to that problem was to then have me dancing under a waterfall getting soaking wet,” said Fox to laughs from the crowd. “At 15, I was in 10th grade. That’s sort of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works.” Kimmel responded: “Well that’s really a microcosm of how all our minds work, but some of us have the decency to repress those thoughts and pretend that they don’t exist.” In the interview, Fox presented Kimmel with a sketch of the comic with exaggerated muscles and Kimmel returned the favor, showing off a drawing of himself and Fox “together” in bed, seemingly making out.

  • DON JR GOES AFTER KIMMEL“Jimmy Kimmel must resign. It is the mandated thing to do when you use the n word!” wrote a critic. “He went into hiding with the hope that all will be forgotten. But since he is a Democrat he will be forgiven in the end!”
