Biden Spotted with “Tough Putin Q&A” Notecard at Media Session

By WMAL.com

A photo revealed President Biden holding a notecard titled “Tough Putin Q&A” at a press conference at the White House Monday.

  • The notecard included detailed notes of the questions Biden would be asked at the media event as well as answers to said questions. The notecard also provided suggestions for the reporters that the president should call on for questions.
  • What the notecard said: the photos released did not include the entirety of the notecard, but some text was still visible including, “I was expressing the moral outrage I felt toward the actions of this man,” said the notecard, referencing his comments about Putin over the weekend. “I was not articulating a change in policy.” Biden went on to use both phrases during the q&a session.
  • The context: the White House is clearly ramping up efforts to keep President Biden on script after off-the-cuff comments about a potential regime change in Russia left many fearful that Biden’s word may escalate tensions internationally.
