Eden Gordon Media | June 25, 2025
(WASHINGTON, DC) — Eden Gordon Media, NewsTalk 105.9 FM, WMAL’s The All-American Book Club, and Great American Media, announces a month of patriotism, history, and Judeo-Christian values that shaped America nearly 250 years ago. Guests, including commentator Jane Hampton Cook, authors Carrie Sheffield, Jennifer Strickland, and Kimberly Heckler, share their lifelong insights on how these principles guide our nation’s future.
“America is craving tradition and has a real thirst for a return to the Judeo-Christian values and selfless service that built our nation 250 years ago. Yet, as echoes of Vietnam-era protests resurface – once spitting on our military and servicemembers, now chanting ‘No Kings’ without a hint of irony that they’d support a ‘king’ aligned with their worldview – disdain for heritage threatens our future,” said Eden Gordon Hill. “History skips a generation, and its lessons are fading, as the rhetoric of hate and rejection of tradition persist and spread. We have to ignite patriotism in our youth by reclaiming the hard-won lessons of the past because without that foundation, we’re lost moving forward.”
“As America250 approaches, families are craving the traditions and faith that anchor us – Judeo-Christian values of love, unity, and service,” said Great American Media CEO and President Bill Abbott. “These roots shape the kinds of entertainment we make at Great American, calling for stories that celebrate our shared heritage and uplift the human spirit. When Hollywood leans into divisive narratives, it risks alienating the heart of America. By embracing family-friendly content grounded in faith, we can inspire a new generation to carry our legacy forward, weaving hope and pride into the fabric of our nation’s milestone celebration.”

Kimberly Heckler: Author of A Woman of Firsts: Margaret Heckler, Political Trailblazer

In this timely and compelling debut, Kimberly Heckler – daughter-in-law of trailblazing Congresswoman Margaret Heckler – brings to life the extraordinary journey of the only woman in American history to achieve the political “triple crown”: serving in Congress, a presidential cabinet, and as U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. A guest on C-SPAN’s Book TV and other national media, Kimberly has also lectured at Harvard, Boston College, and Rutgers. Her deeply researched and passionately told biography has earned praise from Irish Ambassador Geraldine Byrne Nason, CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Patricia Harrison, Congressman Rich Hudson, Senator Ed Markey, among others, and continues to inspire important conversations around bipartisan leadership, women’s rights, and the role of public service. Kimberly is a member of the Library of Congress Women’s History and Gender Studies Group and the Authors Guild.
A Woman of Firsts: Margaret Heckler, Political Trailblazer is more than a biography – it is a deeply human portrait of perseverance. Born the unwanted daughter of Irish immigrants during the Great Depression, Margaret Heckler transformed early rejection and hardship into a groundbreaking political career. Guided by her faith, she became one of only 12 women in Congress in 1967, authored the Equal Credit Opportunity Act that gave women the right to credit and credit cards in their names, co-sponsored Title IX, and redefined national healthcare policy with The Heckler Report, which for the first time exposed racial health disparities in America.
The book also offers a rare view into the behind-the-scenes world of American politics where Heckler rubbed shoulders with leaders from Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson to Ronald Reagan. The story details the 1960s-1980s experiences of a woman who successfully broke the glass ceiling, entering rooms where few women had been invited before. In a polarized world desperate for heroes, Margaret Heckler is one to remember.
