Arlington, VA — Tony Sabio, a U.S. Veteran, former U.S. Secret Service and CIA officer, father, grandfather, and trusted community advocate, has officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District.
“I’m running for Congress because it’s time to restore common sense, courage, and accountability to Washington,” said Sabio. “The people of Northern Virginia are tired of partisan soundbites and political games. They deserve a representative who listens, leads with integrity, and delivers real results—not more division and broken promises.”
Sabio’s life and career have been defined by service and mission. From protecting Presidents and foreign dignitaries with the U.S. Secret Service to operating in high-stakes intelligence environments with the CIA, Sabio has spent a lifetime defending the Constitution and safeguarding the rights of all Americans.
“I’ve built bridges between divided communities, taken on real challenges, and worked to solve problems—not point fingers,” he added. “Now, I’m ready to bring that same mission-driven mindset to Congress.”
Sabio’s campaign will focus on restoring common sense and principled leadership to Washington. His priorities include:
- Putting people before politics and ending the cycle of performative partisanship
- Supporting law enforcement and public safety, while rebuilding trust in our institutions
- Strengthening the economy for working families and small businesses
- Protecting Constitutional freedoms and parental rights
- Rebuilding a strong national defense that prioritizes readiness, innovation, and care for service members
- Advocating for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families
“This isn’t a campaign of platitudes,” Sabio emphasized. “This is a movement to bring responsibility, results, and real representation back to Virginia’s 8th District. We don’t need more career politicians—we need leaders who’ve lived real life, served this country, and are ready to fight for its future.”
