UPPER MARLBORO, MD — (WMAL) A Howard County Police officer is charged with DUI after a hit and run incident last night.

Corporal Corey Britton’s car rear-ended another car and drove off.

The driver of the hit car managed to get pictures of Britton’s license plate, which allowed it to be traced back to him.

Police arrested Britton and charged him with driving under the influence and failing to remain at the scene.

Howard County Police say that he is now on administrative duty, instead of active patrol, while the department investigates.
