STERLING, Va. (WMAL) — The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for northwestern areas of the DC Metro area for tonight.

The advisory begins at 2AM and senior forecaster for the NWS, Howard Silverman, says that your outdoor plant-life could be in danger.

“Any sensitive vegetation that is outside is likely to be damaged if it’s not protected,” he said. People should move plants indoors or cover them to keep them from getting damaged in the frost.

Silverman also warns that the temperature could get as low as the 30s overnight tonight and tomorrow night. “Cooler, more fall-like conditions should be expected, pretty much all week,” he said.
