School Bus Driver Struck, Killed in Parking Lot

 

BRISTOW, Va. (AP) – A school bus driver in northern Virginia has died after being struck by another bus at a school system’s transportation center.

Prince William County Police say 62-year-old Richard Proffitt of Manassas was on foot at a transportation center in Bristow when he was hit by a bus backing out of a service bay Monday at 7:30 a.m. Proffitt was pronounced dead at the scene.

No children were on the bus.

The man who was driving the bus was not injured.
