This year, the MAGA contingent of this country — which numerically and electorally turned out to be most Americans — is a critical element of an unprecedented mandate.

President Trump, along with supportive legislators and constituents, is tasked with making quick, major overhauls to how the government fulfills its mission. It occurs to me that the work required is akin to Excalibur, the sword of the Arthurian legends.

The legendary sword was said to be magical. It was firmly lodged in stone and could only be pulled out by “the true king.” Arthur was able to dislodge the sword and lent it to trusted followers, including an Irish warrior and the Earl of Cornwall, to complete his missions. The sword has magic powers, but great effort must be exerted to invoke them.
