DeSantis Establishes ‘Victims of Communism Day’ in Florida

By WMAL.com

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is once again taking the fight to proponents of instituting socialist and communist agendas in the United States by signing into law a bill that establishes the state holiday “Victims of Communism Day”. The holiday will be recognized on November 7th each year and serve as a reminder of the destruction and devastation caused by those who have lived under communist rule.

After signing the bill Gov. DeSantis tweeted, “Today, I established November 7th as Victims of Communism Day to honor those who have suffered under communism and remind people of the destruction communism has caused worldwide, including a death toll exceeding 100 million … In Florida, we will tell the truth about communism.”

Florida Lt. Governor Jeannette Nunez echoed Gov. DeSantis, “Throughout this country, we are seeing communism and socialism being romanticized,” she said at a press conference. “Positive attitudes are at an all time high in this country. But not here in Florida, because freedom, not Marxism, has a home here in the free state of Florida.”

The goal of the newly established holiday in Florida is to educate children and future generation of the dangers of communism and emphasize the importance of the freedom that built America.
